ISO 14001 Environmental Certification

We’re proud to be certified to ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management. This certification reflects our structured approach to sustainability, ensuring we actively monitor, manage, and reduce our environmental impact across every part of our operation. From energy use to waste reduction, ISO 14001 helps us stay accountable, compliant, and continually improving. It’s part of our long-term commitment to delivering a responsible, future- focused service that supports our clients’ own environmental goals.

CERTIFIED CARBON NEUTRAL

At Express Linen Hire, we’re officially a PAS 2060-certified carbon-neutral business. So far, we’ve offset over 5,700 tonnes of CO2 and continue to take active steps to reduce emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3. We’re committed to cutting our carbon intensity by 30% by 2030 and reaching Net Zero by 2040. CLEANER, GREENER DELIVERIES

Sustainability extends beyond our laundry and into the way we move. We
reduce emissions from our delivery fleet by through route optimisation, delivery consolidation, and a are looking to transition to hybrid and electric vehicles over time.

PACKAGING WITH PURPOSE

We’re taking clear steps to eliminate single-use plastics from our operations. By 2027, we aim to use 100% sustainable packaging. This includes switching to biodegradable and reusable delivery tubs, reducing plastic wrap with new banding technology.

LESS WASTE, LONGER LIFE

Our commitment to reducing textile waste is rooted in a circular approach. We extend the life of our linens through care and maintenance processes, ensuring each item delivers maximum value. When products are no longer suitable for service, we repurpose them into items like cleaning cloths or insulation materials. We’ve also adopted a zero-landfill policy, meaning no textiles are sent to landfill. Instead, we work with specialist recycling partners to find smarter, more sustainable solutions for managing end-of-life fabrics.

SMARTER WATER AND ENERGY USE

We’re committed to reducing our water and energy consumption through continuous review and smart investment. By upgrading machinery, optimising wash loads, and managing our production schedule daily, we operate on real time scheduling, minimising waste and maximising efficiency across our operations.

Exceptional service starts with making responsible choices. That’s why we
work closely with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. By choosing Fairtrade-certified cotton and embracing waste reduction through thorough recycling, we make sure our supply chain meets the highest ethical and environmental standards.

We’re proud to be working in partnership with Platinum Ecovadis-rated linen suppliers to deliver greener, more efficient linen solutions. These products are designed to benefit both our customers and the environment, supporting smoother processing, reducing resource use, and helping hospitality businesses meet their sustainability goals.
